About the event

The ACE Woman (Appearance Confident and Exceptional Woman) event holding on the 27th of March, 2025, at Freedom Park, in Lagos, is a groundbreaking initiative celebrating women with visible differences by fostering inclusion, confidence, and empowerment. This maiden edition, themed “Celebrating the Uniqueness of Women with Visible Differences – Inspiring Inclusion Through Art and Storytelling“ aligns with the International Women’s Day 2025 theme: “Inspire Inclusion.”

This event will combine an engaging in-person experience with an impactful social media campaign, creating visibility, inspiring inclusion, and empowering women to embrace their uniqueness with confidence.

About Us

ACE Woman is a movement, a sisterhood, and a revolution in how women see themselves. We are not just about “celebrating”; we are about owning, embracing, and thriving in our unique appearance, regardless of societal norms, expectations, and beauty narratives. ACE woman is an initiative of The Skin and Appearance Positive Hub (SKAPH).

Objectives

 

    • Celebrate women with visible differences and promote confidence in their appearance.

    • Foster intergenerational mentorship by connecting young women with senior professionals who have thrived despite appearance-based challenges.

    • Showcase the beauty of diversity through fashion, storytelling, and creative expression.

    • Inspire broader societal inclusion through dialogue and shared experiences.

ACE Woman Event Activities

1. Empowerment Talks/Impact Storytelling: Inspiring presentations by women, Seasoned professionals and entrepreneurs with visible differences who have overcome challenges related to appearance, celebrating their resilience, **will share authentic and vulnerable stories of resilience, success, and self-acceptance, inspiring young women to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their dreams.

2. Creative Expression: A vibrant showcase of artistic talent featuring fashion shows, spoken words, Dance and live music performances by women with visible differences.

3. Panel Discussion: A thought-provoking panel discussion with dermatologists, psychologists, creative designers, and women with visible differences to address the impact of skin conditions and appearance challenges on mental health, and strategies for building self-esteem and advocating for change.

4. Roundtable Mentoring Sessions: Senior women with visible differences will mentor young women, guiding them in navigating personal and professional challenges. These small-group discussions will provide a safe space for learning, sharing experiences, and networking.

5. Community Building: Opportunities for networking, mentorship, and building connections among women with visible difference

**Proposed Keynote Speech: “Visible, Valued, and Unstoppable”
